REVOLUCIÓN - Jackie Sleper

JACKIE SLEPER: REVOLUCIÓN la realizé para recordar la Revolución mexicana. Es maravilloso ver como a pesar de todas las guerras, revoluciones, tiempos buenos y malos, el maíz, uno de los productos mexicanos más importantes, permanece siempre estable en primer plano. Realizo el maíz en plata, el color del movimento, para hacer evidente que a pesar de todas las circunstancias el maíz sigue creciendo.

REVOLUCIÓN was made to commemorate the Mexican Revolution. What strikes me as wonderful is that throughout all the wars and revolutions, as well as through the good times, Mexico’s corn – one of the country’s most important products – has remained stable. To show this I made the corn silver, a colour I use to symbolise something that is fluid, and therefore as a sign that the corn continues to grow under all circumstances.
