JACKIE SLEPER: En la obra EL CORAZÓN represento una mujer joven con su madre muerta. La madre dona su sabiduría y espiritualidad a su hija. La joven tiene cabellos y flores de plata porque la plata significa fluidez, movimiento a diferencia del oro que no tiene movimento. La plata la utilizo para indicar que la joven recibe todas y cada una de las palabras de su madre para posteriormente regalarlas a sus hijos. Los peces que a menudo pinto en mis obras son símbolo de vida.
EL CORAZÓN shows a young woman and her mother, who has passed away. The mother gives her culture and spirituality to her daughter. The girl has silver hair and silver flowers. Silver to me is fluid, flowing, whereas gold lacks of movement. I have used silver to indicate that the girl is receptive to each word she ‘receives’ from her mother, and that she herself will pass it down to her own children from her heart. In my work often I often use fish, as one of my symbols of life.
