This painting is my tribute to a very special person: Arturo García Bustos, pupil and close personal friend of Frida Kahlo and member of Los Fridos. He himself is a fantastic graphic artist and painter. I have depicted him in a very soft style and larger than Frida. Fishes are swimming around them; I use these to symbolise life. They seem to be swimming in an aquarium, but in fact they are not: they are free. The blood-red leaves represent his sadness at Frida’s passing. He misses her still. The words on the painting speak for themselves.
